Wednesday was the first day that felt sorta normal. I didn't have surgery, I didn't wake up in a hospital. I didn't have anything big happening. The only thing I had to do was sit around or sleep. I did a lot of both.
I woke up feeling pretty good. I was still massively swollen but I had some energy. I noticed in the mirror that my face was getting bruised. I was starting to get a splotchy purple bruise on my chin and faint purple on my neck. With the swelling, I looked like an ogre. I joked with my dad that we should go see the Hobbit because people would think I was in costume.
I rediscovered ice cream today! I asked my dad to bring home some good vanilla, something like Breyers. I made a strawberry-banana protein milk shake that was so amazingly good that all I had to eat for the next two days were milk shakes of some variety. The great thing about them are the calories. It's not easy to get enough calories when you can only eat things that seem like they'be taste OK as a liquid. Carrots, broccoli, strawberries, bananas, apples, cauliflower... those have been my staples. I put green tea leaves in a most of my blender meals. I've read some nice things online about it about it's health benefits. I put protein and the seeds in every drink.
The rest of the day was just sleep. I woke up at a normal hour, but I fell asleep every few hours. Sometimes, just for 20 minutes, sometimes for an hour or more. I was just always tiered. Still, I felt like things were really going well.
They say that on the third day, people normally get sad and even teary eyed. It's a side effect of coming down off the anesthesia. I didn't really feel that too bad but by the night time, I was depleted and slept again.
I didn't take any pics. Like I said, I was worn out all day.
